This painting depicts a derelict boat. The boat is stranded on the sea bed or on the beach. Bold shades of yellow and orange are used in this painting to depict a desolate lifeless landscape.
Most importantly this painting can be seen as a philosophical look at whats left of life. After its triumphs and defeat, its accomplishments and losses. Therefore the broken boat is a simple yet powerful metaphor for dreams and hopes which is set against the forces of nature.
